Why should I choose CU Rx over my external auditor or trade association?
CU Rx brings years of certified risk management and compliance experience to your credit union. CU Rx uniquely and intrinsically understands your credit union’s needs, operations, and opportunities. CU Rx works solely with credit unions providing the expertise to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and improve their overall risk management. CU Rx is credit union born, credit union focused, and credit union driven.
What work can CU Rx perform?
CU Rx provides consulting services exclusively to credit unions in the areas of compliance, fraud and risk management. CU Rx reviews and audits a wide scope of regulations and best practices including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Automated Clearing House (ACH), Vendor Management/Third Party Due Diligence, Disaster Recovery and Identity Theft Red Flags.
What can I expect to pay for the service(s) I choose?
Pricing is based on the service(s) you choose specifically, the scope, size and complexity of the audit and the credit union. We believe we provide a friendly, flexible and fast service with expertise at a lower cost than legal firms or accounting firm auditors.
How do I contract for services?
You may contact our Executive Sales Team at 1-888-766-1576 or by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What is a risk assessment?
A risk assessment is a high level assessment which identifies potential threats and vulnerabilities relating to the specific topic under review.
What is the CU Rx approach to risk assessments and audits?
CU Rx’s approach allows us to objectively recognize, isolate, and confront risks that can interfere with your credit union’s ability to successfully fulfill its mission to its membership. CU Rx will help your credit union determine which risks are present, how much risk it can handle, and solutions to manage the risk. Typically, there are four phases to any assessment or audit; planning, field-work, communication of results and follow-up.
Are the details of my audit kept confidential?
Absolutely! We fully understand the sensitivity of your records and credit union operations. Confidentiality is a priority for us.
What should I expect during the audit and what information is required for the audit?
In order to perform a thorough audit, we will need to review your credit union’s existing policies, procedures and/or controls. We typically review the policies prior to coming on site then using detailed questionnaires during on-site interviewing to ensure a comprehensive review is conducted. Essentially, we act as both your compliance officer and internal auditor throughout the audit process.
How much of my time will the audit require?
The length of time for an audit depends on the scope, size and complexity of the audit and the credit union’s internal controls. Most audits range from one day to one week. For each audit, there will be an individual within your credit union who will act as our main contact for the duration of the audit. The main contact will be responsible for meeting with the auditor(s), gathering requested information and discussing the audit findings. We will also need to meet with other key personnel during planning and fieldwork to improve our understanding of how your credit union operates.
Why should I outsource an audit rather than performing the audit myself?
One of the best reasons to outsource is that one never audits itself as well as a non-biased third party. Compliance and risk management is all we do so we know what to look for and how to correct and enhance risk management and compliance. It is often difficult for credit union executives to find the time to go through a quarterly or annual risk management review process and we know that. We desire to get you ready for the examiner in an objective, knowledgeable way.
Can I ask CU Rx for assistance when I am not being audited?
Absolutely! We exist to serve and give back to the credit union industry whether we are doing an audit or assisting with a general compliance question. We are friendly and flexible, and aim to provide fast service and expertise to credit unions.
What is included in the audit report?
The audit report expresses our assessment on the area(s) reviewed. The report also provides audit findings and detailed recommendations for improvements. The report is organized in a way that your credit union’s supervisory committee, management or board can best prioritize your customized plan of action.
